How to Properly Check and Fill Tires – Tires must be inflated at a fair pressure to ensure their role, that is, to ensure the car’s handling, comfort, and limit fuel consumption. This operation is very simple and within reach of all, it is to be done every month.
1) How to know the inflation pressure of your tires?
The first thing to know is the exact pressure recommended for your tires.
This information is mentioned on a label stuck in the opening of the driver’s door or inside the gas door of your car.

Therefore, always prefer to do a cold-pressure control, that is, after a journey of a small ten kilometers maximum.
Example: Cold pressure 2.5 bars/hot pressure 2.8 bars.
(5) Think of the spare wheel
The pressure of the spare wheel is generally neglected, it is true that the latter serves only every 150 000 kilometers according to the statistics, but in the case of a puncture having a spare tire deflated is useless! Check its pressure at least once a year. If your tires are worn, do not take any risks and order new ones, by selecting the brand and the models carefully. The indications of the inflators are not fair!
The pressure gauges of the inflation stations are not calibrated, and there is a large disparity between them. It is not uncommon to find from one inflator to another a difference of 0.4 bars. For this reason, it is preferable to use a personal manometer which allows for a greater precision, and above all to have always the same pressures from one verification to another.
With a pressure measurement always identical and comparable, you have the possibility to detect a possible leakage or loss of air on a tire, and thus a greater chance of detecting a slow puncture or a problem on the valve.
